Todd Buxton published first paper from his dissertation in CJAFS. Well Done, Dr. Buxton.

Check out the early draft online: Modeling the influence of salmon spawning on hyporheic exchangeof marine-derived nutrients in gravel streambeds  at the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences.

Using field data and a two-dimensional groundwater model, Todd illustrates the potential spawning effect on nutrient uptake in streams. Spoiler alert: its positive.
